Our Story
Relentless Gear was inspired by the life and legacy of Kyle Hofstetter — a devoted husband, father, son, veteran, athlete, and friend whose impact continues to reach far beyond his years.
Kyle lived life with an unmistakable spirit of determination and humbleness. A former college lacrosse player at the Virginia Military Institute and an Army veteran, he carried the values of discipline, service, and grit into every part of his life. But above all, Kyle was most proud of his role as a husband to Katie and father to their two daughters, Ella and Millie.
In 2019 at age 28, Kyle was diagnosed with a rare type of Stage 4 liver cancer called fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma. What followed was an over five-year battle defined not by defeat, but by resilience. Through countless treatments, hospital stays, surgeries and challenges, Kyle faced every day with the same mindset that defined his life: relentless determination.
The word Relentless became more than a motto for Kyle and his family — it became a way of life. As a family, they spent a lot of time on the Magothy River and Chesapeake Bay on a boat Kyle and Katie were able to custom build which was later named Relentless.
The word, the boat, the lifestyle went onto impact everyone who heard their story. It represented perseverance in the face of adversity, unwavering love for family and community, and the belief that even the hardest battles can be fought with courage and purpose.
Kyle passed away on August 29, 2024, surrounded by the people he loved most but his legacy lives on through his daughters, his family, and the countless people he inspired along the way.
Relentless Gear exists to carry that spirit forward. Every piece represents the mindset Kyle embodied: keep showing up, keep pushing forward, and live relentlessly.
